So I’ve got a wedding to go to tomorrow.  That’s going to last like an hour, because I don’t really know or care for anyone there.  Here’s the situation on the ground:

1.)  I have an orange camaro.

2.)  We’re stationed right in the heart of town on the 12th floor of the LAX Sheraton.

3.)  We set this up ages ago and planned to be wasteful, so virtually any conceivable circumstance is paid for.

4.)  We’re in California until Monday, and the plan is to conk out on the flight on the way back.  Sleep is optional.

Any recommendations?

Go play Hold ‘Em at the Commerce Casino.  Famous casino, players are from central casting.  Good times.

A fucking Orange Camaro? If it’s pre-1984 you can write your own ticket in this town. Musso and Frank’s on Hollywood Blvd for dinner and abuse-from-old-waiters, Drinks in the Chateau Marmont lobby.

If you have an Orange Camaro you can write your ticket in any town, any time.

True. Richard Corliss, Time’s film critic once told me he would never be worried about the U.S. economy as long as people in other countries thought American culture was cool.

Cape Feare! My favorite episode, thanks to the gratuitous Gilbert and Sullivan references. And the second opening to the show in the third act.

Oh my god, this is one of my favorites too. “When I say hello Mr. Thompson, you say hi.”

The rakes thing is also amazing for that moment when you realize they’re going to show him getting hit in the face by every single rake.
